Hello, my name is Mick Jay Krueger and I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. My major is Middle Childhood/ Early Adolescence Regular Education and my minor is Middle Childhood/ Early Adolescence Learning Disabilities. I am currently subbing in and around the Eau Claire School District and am searching for a full-time teaching postition for the upcoming school year.

I have included below my exceptional characteristics that makes me different from everybody else at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. Please feel free to view my resume which is linked at the bottom of this page. I also have included my favorite links that I find useful for lesson plans and knowledge for teachers, also I have included a standard page that includes all the Wisconsin Teaching standards. Please feel free to view these sites and also email me with any questions and comments.

Exceptional Characteristics
Throughout my years here at UW-Eau Claire I have been an active member in scholastic activities as well as in the community. These experiences have helped shape me into a well rounded person as well as give me important skills that I will need in the future. I have learned appreciation of hard work, leadership, adaptability, diversity, and personal skills. These attributes will contribute to my future as an effective teacher.

Work Ethic
Growing up on a dairy farm gave me a special appreciation for what hard work really means. Farm activities required extremely long days and intensive labor to succeed. As a hard worker I was able to accomplish these tasks, which gives me confidence that I will be able to overcome the stresses of being a teacher.

Leadership Skills
As a student I have been part of many extracurricular activities and organizations that have allowed me to develop my leadership abilities. I have been active in Student Wisconsin Education Association (SWEA), Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC), and the Future Teacher's Club (FTC). My activities and participation in these organizations have given me strength, confidence, and leadership skills in group settings. I believe that these experiences will give me an edge when I approach situations that occur in the classroom setting.

Adaptability
My upbringing in a household with little money taught me to be adaptable in my personal expectations. Due to the circumstances, I was forced to make do with little more than my imagination and perseverance. Even though I was dealt a rough hand I was able to carry on and prosper with what I could get a hold of. This life long lesson has equipped me with the ability to deal with any pitfalls that come my way. As a teacher I could adapt to supply shortages, curriculum changes, or the unexpected.

Diverse Background
In my experiences in school and working for the YMCA I have become comfortable with diversity in relationships and in the workplace. This comfort gives me the ability to be confident in situations that may intimidate others. As a future educator I feel this is of the utmost importance because you never know what you may encounter in the classroom or with students parents.

Personal Skills
Through my experiences with family, friends, teachers, and children I have gained insight into proper personal skills. Teacher-student and teacher-parent relationships can sometimes make or break a classroom. I am confident that I have gained the abilities to relate to students, parents, and my peers in a way that will create a healthy classroom environment for all. A healthy environment for everyone will allow me to keep the students best interests in mind at all times.

I understand the being a teacher is a profession with many trials and tribulations that will challenge me in many ways. Teaching is also a learning experience that is very rewarding. Everything that I have learned and encountered in my life is a lesson that I can use to help teach my classes. With the characteristics I have developed I feel I am qualified to be an effective educator.
